But we can also say from this dining table that it persues the simplicity of modernity having no ornaments but the simple natural wood texture. This way, we can also say that it will fit perfectly inside contemporary and modern architecture spaces.

The legs were designed with caution and detail allowing perfect comfort and functionality since all four table sides can be used in a comfortable way. It’s interlocking joints are also a reason for a solid and strong performance from this piece of furniture.

Wood Tea table

Where natural wood challenges gravity

Wood is natural material and commonly used in traditional and stable furniture structures. We like to challenge ourselves permanently and rediscover the limits of weight, balance and lightness. We tested several wood joints and achieve a very strong and beautiful result with one of them. This tea table borns from a very simple group of parts that form a strong whole.

Achieving such minimal form is in fact a strong challenge since we insisted that this design kept the concept of natural wood joinery and banning the use of screws and nails.

The assembling of this puzzle is a brain challenge on itself. It is very easy to assemble physically the group, though you must be completely focus to complete the task. The result is a very elegant and sophisticated tea table.

Natural wood Rest chair

Living room wood chair with modern design

Having a living and resting room chair is a timeless need. Nonetheless, latest modern design trends forgot that not only sofas could be used for such task. The chair with correct design could also be part of the living room space. Our aproach was to use wood in the lightest and minimal form posible. Our design then resulted in a profound simplicity and lightness of the naural wood.

The form of the chair is particularly beautifull because of the cross shape of it’s legs and the way the assembling joints are transformed into the ornament of the seats and backs.

This rest chair is also very fun to assemble, disassemble and pack. Enabling an easy way to transport and store it.

Flexible wood shelf

Reshaping continuously adjustable wooden shelves

This particular piece of wood furniture gave us a special pleasure when designing. The concept relied on designing a solution with a module that could produce an infinite amount of solutions reshaping and adapting the shelves continuously to each surrounding space and each user.

It’s form is also interesting and rich on contrasts. When we look from behind or in front we see transparent wood shelves. On the other hand, when we look from it’s sides we see a solid and opaque wood form. This fun contrast is always an important design feature that we try to achieve.

The flexibility of this shelves is also a key factor on it’s functionality. Not only allows the adaptation to different spaces but also proves to be of extreme importance when we need to place diferent kinds of objects with different dimensions and weights. It’s structure can be by this mean adjusted to include lighter or heavier objects inside.

Minimalist wood chair

Alternating design lightness and heaviness

This flexible wood chair is a very good example of the alternation between a lightweight and a heavyweight form. Our aim was to design a chair that was able to be perceived in different perspectives literally. This means that we wanted our wood chair to look light and fragile from one point of view and to look heavy and strong from a different direction. This strategy enabled us to use the chair in old solid architecture interiors and in light modern spaces.

Modernist furniture design has been a continuous fight for lightness and minimal use of matter. Post modern design has tried to break that path and include the classic use of solid solutions into furniture pieces. We wanted something in between. We wanted classicism and modernism all together in one piece. And we did it.

Interlocking pieces is something we really appreciate. This time we used it as the only ornament on the design and gives this sophisticated elegant piece also a contrast with a touch of rural simplicity.

Wood Coat Stand

Building a Coat Stand from a woodden puzzle

This is a knockdown coat stand which consists of small parts assembled together without screws or nails. By assembling the several parts one by one, the coat stand is extended upwards like a tree. The several puzzle parts were designed to fit perfectly inside a very small box making the coat stand also easy to pack and carry. It’s modern and also elegant style resembles art déco sculptures making it not only perfect for modern houses interiors but also to old and classic spaces.

You can rotate the supports adjusting the coat stand to your personal needs. It’s also simple to reduce or increase it’s size to fit small spaces since it’s made of well proportioned small puzzle pieces.
